Egyptian Inspired Bench
The first version of this bench was based on photos of Mayan pyramids and made with sycamore, stained green, to suggest a forest canopy. After recently visiting the pyramids of Giza, Tony made this one—identical in form, but in walnut. The simple V-shaped incisions, chiseled along tapering chamfers, are painted in the color palette commonly found in ancient Egyptian tombs and temples. TONY O’MALLEY, Emmaus, Pa.
